Our Story

Hello, and welcome to Leuenberger Lavender. We are Jake and Meagan Leuenberger, and we have a small lavender farm operation in Tecumseh, NE.

We never set out to be lavender farmers, but destiny had different ideas.

In July 2020, we got married in a tiny, COVID-friendly ceremony at a local garden in Lincoln, NE, followed by a beautiful honeymoon near Olympic National Park in Washington State. The outdoor setting was ideal for social distancing, and we were grateful for an opportunity to get out of the house and celebrate our new marriage.

By happenstance, we chose a vacation rental in Sequim, Washington, at the foot of the Olympic Mountains, where the annual summer Lavender Festival was taking place. Most of the festivities were cancelled of course, but the dozen or so lavender farms were open to the public for tours and shopping. We were able to wander the gorgeous fields of lavender, connect with local farmers, and get an inside look at their production processes.

When we flew back to Lincoln a week later, the Leuenberger Lavender seed had been planted, and it has been a labor of love ever since. With some starter plants from Victor’s Lavender in Sequim, a bit of land from Jake’s dad’s farm, great information from established farmers, and the resources available through the United States Lavender Growers Association, we’re officially up and running, and proud to offer our lavender and lavender products!
